These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of software products and services provided by Roitto Design Works ("we", "us", "our"), a sole proprietorship operated by Jukka Roitto, Business ID 3600460-1, based in Kuopio, Finland.
By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using any of our products, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
We develop and sell software products, including plugins for Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper as well as standalone desktop applications. Current products include RhinoNotches, CanopyStudio, CutForge, and other design and production tools. Products are offered as:
Upon purchase, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the software for your personal or professional work. You may install the software on devices you own or control, subject to any seat or device limitations specified at the time of purchase.
Each license is valid for one machine at a time. You may transfer your license to a different machine, but a cooldown period applies between transfers to prevent concurrent use on multiple devices. If you need to use the software on multiple machines simultaneously, a separate license is required for each.

All payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, tax collection, invoicing, and payment processing on our behalf. By making a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service.
Prices are displayed inclusive of applicable taxes where required. Paddle may charge in your local currency based on your location.
Subscription licenses renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected at purchase). You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Paddle customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
One-time purchase licenses include access to minor updates (bug fixes, compatibility patches) for the purchased major version. Major version upgrades may require a separate purchase.
Subscription licenses include all updates and new features released during the active subscription period.
We provide support via email on a reasonable-effort basis. We do not guarantee specific response times.
All software, documentation, logos, and content remain the intellectual property of Roitto Design Works. Your license grants usage rights only — no ownership or intellectual property rights are transferred.
Rhinoceros and Grasshopper are registered trademarks of Robert McNeel & Associates. Our Rhino-based products are independently developed and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Robert McNeel & Associates.
Some of our products require online license verification or activation through third-party services (such as Google Firebase). While we make reasonable efforts to ensure continuous availability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to these services.
We are not liable for downtime, outages, or disruptions caused by third-party infrastructure providers beyond our control. In the event of a prolonged outage affecting license verification, we will make reasonable efforts to provide a temporary workaround or alternative activation method.
Our software may include an offline grace period allowing continued use during temporary service interruptions.
Some of our products are designed to work with specific versions of third-party software (such as Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper) or specific operating systems (such as Windows and macOS). We do not guarantee compatibility with future versions, updates, or modifications of third-party software or operating systems.
When third-party software vendors or OS vendors release updates that affect the functionality of our products, we will make reasonable efforts to release compatibility updates. However, we are not liable for any loss of functionality, workflow disruption, or incompatibility caused by third-party software or OS changes. We do not guarantee a specific timeline for compatibility updates.
We shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government actions, power outages, internet infrastructure failures, cyberattacks, or third-party service provider outages.
You are solely responsible for evaluating whether our software is suitable for your intended use case, workflow, and requirements before making a purchase. We do not guarantee that our products will meet your specific needs, produce results compatible with other software, or integrate seamlessly with third-party tools and workflows.
We are not liable for any issues arising from exporting, importing, or transferring data or files between our software and other applications. Output compatibility with third-party software depends on factors beyond our control.
You are also solely responsible for maintaining backups of your own data, files, and work. Our software may create, modify, or process files as part of its intended functionality. We are not liable for any data loss, file corruption, or unintended modifications resulting from the use of our products, whether caused by software errors, system incompatibilities, or user error.
We strongly recommend testing our software with your specific workflow and maintaining regular backups of all important files before and during use.
Our software is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all systems or third-party software. We are not liable for any data loss, workflow disruption, or damages arising from the use of our products.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roitto Design Works' total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of our products shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
In no event shall Roitto Design Works be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, business interruption, cost of substitute goods or services, production delays, or any damages arising from reliance on or use of our software — regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our maximum obligation in any dispute is limited to issuing a refund for the purchase price of the product in question. This limitation applies to all claims, whether based on contract, tort, strict liability, or any other legal theory.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the software and delete all copies.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our products after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kuopio, Finland, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.
